samsung-digital-frameIt is best product to present someone as a gift. According to a latest survey almost 38% percent purchaser of digital frames are purchasing it as gift. I myself have got the same gift of Samsung digital photo frame from my best friend. It is the best gift I ever received in my life. Just plug and play, its so easy to operate and handle. It comes with 120 MB built in memory which is enough to store your whole family images. Hidden SD card allows you to add extra memory for more better experience. It comes in different colors and sizes so you can chose color according to your drawing room’s color combination and you can choose size according to your digital camera resolution. It also has different slide show options to adjust slide show speed according to your requirement. Auto turn-off feature is very interesting and cost effective one and it lowers electricity bill too.

Samsung photo frame enlarges all pictures to fit the photo frame. Its good feature for small size pictures but for big pictures the problem occurs in case of large size pictures. It hides top and bottom of picture when we enlarge the picture. We can remove this effect by adjusting aspect ratio of the picture. Some small size pictures loose their aspect ratio when frame increase its size to fit the frame. This problem is common with Samsung photo frame. It offers two different option for adjustment of image i.e. Auto Fit and Original Fit. As far as I am concerned, if could not find any difference between these two option.

Another very big drawback is inability to run on battery so we can not take it on road that is very big down side because it’s not portable. Battery option is more ideal so one won’t have to carry a power wire. The frame is not wall mounted. I can not mount it on my wall. I also wish Samsung digital frame should come with little remote control. I could scroll through and adjust the setting while looking the picture from distance.

Sony PSP Slim Review

sony-psp-slimSony had launched its updated PSP model last 2007. A lot of people were excited to discover what is new about it. At a distant, it seems to be the same as its predecessor model, but a closer look and pick it up will give you an impression of an improved gadget. It is apparently, thinner, lighter and sleeker compared to the original model. Indeed the new PSP slim is an innovative development with these key feature changes:

  • Lighter and thinner – this slim PSP is 19 % thinner and about one-third lighter compared to the original version. Any person that had been familiar with the old model will instantly notice the difference in thickness and weight as soon as they take a hold of it.
  • Improved appearance and controls – The sleeker profile makes a rounded look of the overall physical appearance. Moreover, all control buttons are positioned a little more elevated on the face of the chassis, making them a little more to travel and spring to themselves. A slight difference on the responsiveness of the buttons can be felt.
  • Loading time is faster – This is possible because it uses a new system setting termed as “UMD Cache” that can render faster loading time of game discs. The PSP’s RAM had also been modified adding some memory. The new PSP Slim has 64MB RAM memory while the former model has only 32MB. Just like a computer, the more the memory, the faster the processing time will be.
  • Video Output – the new PSP Slim features an AV output jack. With the additional accessory of breakout cable that can separately be purchased, the PSP’s video and audio can be displayed on almost any TV. But there are few cautions; the video resolution is varied according to the displayed content. Video content coming from Memory stick and UMD discs can be displayed at 720X480 resolutions. On the other hand, games that are locked in the PSP can display a 480X272 display.
  • USB Charging – this new Slim PSP can support charging via USB port. However, there’s quite the trouble because the charging time will take at least 5 hours to fully charge up the batteries, while it just take half an hour to charge using the standard adapter. Charging via the USB port required the unit to be ON and connected to a PC.
  • Battery life – Because of its new slim figure, the new PSP is powered by a 1200mAh battery compared to the bulgy 1800mAh of the previous model. It utilizes power more efficiently for the same play time of 3 to 6 hours or 3 to 5 hours of video playback.
